Welcome

After reading someone's goal of a photo a day, seeing some friends photo pages, and someone's photo blog, I wanted to create a collection of my own work. I love taking photos when I travel, on day trips, and of friends and family. I recently (July/07) found out I have taken over 9,200 which currently live on my computer. I want to keep collecting images that I find inspiring and share them with others.

My New Stairs

We're playing the waiting game right now waiting for our new house to be built. It's our first home for both of us, so naturally we are extremely excited. We had a move in date of January, which got bumped to April, which has now been bumped to June. Well at least the move-in temperature is getting better and better all the time.

Toronto Loves Bon Jovi

Well haven't had a photo up here in a long time. Mostly because I've been a little consumed with my crashed computer and the potential lost of my photos. Note to self, back up or up load photos more often.

Here are some pictures I took on my camera phone. It doesn't take great pictures usually, but these ones turned out not too badly. These are shot during Bon Jovi's 4th concert (March 10, 2008) in Toronto in the last several months. What an amazing show. Jon Bon Jovi is a class act and seemed genuinely excited and humbled by the out pouring of love and devotion from the Toronto Fans. I certainly hope they will continue to visit and entertain us for years to come.

CN Tower at Night

This isn't a great picture, but it is from my phone as I was stopped at a light downtown last week on Lakeshore Blvd. I went down to see the One of A Kind show which I love to do each year. It's wonderful to see artists come back season after season and see how their work progresses. Some just put on a great show as you watch them "sell" to the "audience". As I drove home wishing I had a lot more money to buy many of the wonderful pieces I saw, I looked up and saw the CN Tower lit up in all it's glory. It's a beautiful structure, but even more so now at night as it really draws your attention as the lights flow and ebb into one another.

A Long Drive into the Sunset

It's interesting that when you are faced with scenary like this...a gorgeous sun set, clear blue skies, a wisp of clouds, silouettes of trees, and no one around you....that it feels like anything is possible. (camera phone pic- interesting the centre of the sun came out black)

The last day of summer - in October

Yesterday was such an incredibly gorgeous day. Warm (26C), sunny, slight breeze. Just a perfect day to hop on the bike and head out into my favourite forest for a little trip through the trees. I ran into more people, dogs, and horses there then I ever have before. Everyone seemed to have the same idea. My only issue was the trails were so covered in leaves it was hard to see where they actually were. I really had to use my trail markers that I had previously named on many other trips. Some of them have even fallen over since my first visit in the spring. I can't wait to get out there again.

Fall is Upon Us

My favourite thing to do once the leaves start changing colours is to go out and just drive randomly; see where you end up and take a look at the world changing around us. So, I took a drive on the weekend to see the fall leaves in the forests north of my home. I drove east for about an hour out to Lindsay, then up to Minden, on to Dorset, and through to Huntsville. I stopped in Dorset to go up the fire tower. I've always wanted to but have only ever driven past. I came across the sign for the small town turned in and found a museum immediately. Behind the museum was a trail that another man was pointing out to be the way up to the tower. So, I grabbed my camera, threw my jacket around my waist and started hiking. Up, way way up. Extremely winded about 20 minutes later I get to the top of this very steep climb that I had just taken, only to come upon a parking lot. Had I only driven another 1/2 mile up the road I would have found the drive way for the top of the hill. LOL. It was a wonderful and beautiful day. Here's just a few of the shots I took.
